But imagine how it would be a shame if the player suddenly sunk into the shameful Chevrolet Impala, and not even the new Dodge Charger, but, say, an exclusive Lamborghini Reventon for one and a half million euros! The role of a sort of Kopa-Major no longer seems shameful. It is for us that we are offered to master in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Poorly forgotten old

The developers claim that today no one will remember about games of a ten -year ago, because you will not see any numbers in the name. Meanwhile, this is the third game in the series Need for Speed with the subtitle of Hot Pursuit (the other two came out in 1998 and 2002, respectively).

The main idea remained unchanged-the police pursue likhachi racers. In the game, this thought is emasculated, brought to the limit. The new concept is called "cat mouse".

The essence is as follows. The world does not spin around the navel of a smug flight. Once he violated the law, then he must run away from the cops, and not to throw their cars on both sides of the roadway. Police, in turn, are not annoying bores, but experienced predators, aggressive driving professionals. One runs away. The other is catching up. Everything is very simple.

To emphasize primitive excitement, the developers introduce a system of pauerps. Each “class” has (those who are “hiding”, and those who are “sinking”) their set of skills. The racer has an indispensable nitro, anti-radar, which removes his image from the opponent’s mini-card, a bonus superception, for which you need to save a charge for a long time, as well as the ability to create a clone-shock: by pressing a special key, you release a 2-blowing machine. It appears at the nearest fork to confuse the pursuer (the clone chooses the turn left if you turn right).

You, the bull!?

According to the technical characteristics of the coupe, the Murcielago LP640 is identical to (which, for a second, almost five times cheaper), accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, the maximum speed, according to official statements, is 350 km/h/h. Outside, unlike other representatives of the Lamborghini family, Reventon is covered with matte paint, not gloss; Many elements of internal and external decoration are made of carbon fiber. But the dashboard is especially impressive. In addition to the usual pseudoanalovo species and digital indicators, Reventon even has a visualized overload sensor similar to devices used in Formula 1 car.

All this is certainly good, but Lamborghini Reventon has a couple of “small” shortcomings. First: the price of a regular version is 1 million euros, and Rodster is 1.1 million at all. Second: even if you are the happy owner of the indicated amount, buy this compartment will not work. Reventon was released by a limited circulation of 20 copies, so the only reasonable way to drive in this unique car is to start Hot Pursuit.

The skills of the policeman are even more interesting. In fact, we have before us the standard set of NFS revenues-only AI arranged them earlier, and now the players themselves are engaged in this. You can order the so -called "Road Blocker" – a wall of four police cars built across the road. Also, having overtaken the offender, the policeman can throw the spikes in his way.

A more difficult option is air support. The arrived helicopter will first act on the rider on the nerves, circling over his head, and then overtake and drop the tape with spikes right in front of him. It is almost impossible to smear from it, and as soon as the electromagnetic impulse enters the rider, he loses control of the car and immediately crashes into something.

Try to imagine the offender under all four “sauces” at once: he lost control, broke his tires with spikes and, in this state, completely demoralized, flew into a fence from police vehicles. You can take warm!

Without any additional devices, a policeman can simply “take care of” his visual. Nominally the pursuer needs to hold out near the offender for some time to arrest. In fact, you can get the moment, aimed, at crazy speed, crash into the rider and instantly bring him out of the game with one decisive blow! Hot Pursuit concept is impeccable. Chases (the main motive of the series, and indeed any flight) officially erected to the status of a gameplay line, chic licensed cars at your disposal … When it came to demonstration of gameplay, our enthusiasm is slight.

The version shown to reporters had a small piece of the game world, with two cars locked in it. We first tried on the role of a policeman, then – the offender. The result was disappointing: among ten participants, there was not a single successful guard of order: of all the duels, the racer came out the winner. However, according to the assurances of the developers, when they tested the card last morning, on the contrary, the catch -up won.

The main problem from which the game is now suffering is inappropriate Sendbox. There are too many forks in the game. Once we unsuccessfully fit into the turn and accidentally drove off in the direction not provided for by the designers – this was enough for the catcher to lose sight of us and lose in a record short time. What will happen when one policeman will need to catch seven violators – it’s scary to imagine.

At the same time, a couple of times over the gameplay session, the game was given the same excitement of the chase around which the whole concept is built.
